Looking at the NYC through a window with markings that characterize what makes up the foundation of the city. This picture paints a trapped, industrial feel of NYC emphasized by the black and white effect.

Turn on, tune in, drop out

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,

I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh all the things I've done
And it was all yellow
coldplay-yellow

With the body language in this picture, the hand stretching skin off the stomach represents the issue of eating disorders mainly with adolescent teens due to the stress and intense focus on an impossible image.

This interactive exhibit at PS1 museum introduced a new form of art to me. With a net overhead, colorful balls filled the sky along with brightly colored hammocks all along the exhibit. The entire class played along with the balls while others relaxed under the aesthetically calming and fun setting.
This picture is part of the sequence of photographs that put together make Hilary's Portrait. Each picture is taken in different angles but when put together makes a distorted but full body picture. The fragmented piece describes Hilary without actually showing her face by accenting her body language and prop usage. Here, a half empty pack of Camel cigarettes express another message of teenage rebellion.
Clara stepping up to the roof on our shoot in Dumbo. The photograph although spontaneous turned out one of my favorite due to the intense glow of lighting and flow of her dress contrasting with the darkness.

Barbie TM

I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on, Barbie, let's go party

I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
I'm a blonde single girl in the fantasy world
Dress me up, take your time, I'm your dollie
You're my doll, rock and roll, feel the glamour and pain
Kiss me here, touch me there, hanky-panky
You can touch, you can play
You can say I'm always yours, oooh whoa
I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation

New China Town, a specific area of NYC with a completely unique culture, is a decorative and colorful speculation. The stores are filled with buddhas, dragons, and daimonds to represent some of the major symbols in the Asain culture. On the other, hand the assimilation of the two cultures is greatly shown by the many similarities in the games they play, food they eat, and clothes they wear. In modern day society, both groups of people have come to learn and embrace the different aspects in every day life and coming to a place like New China Town will expand one's mindset. Although there is definitely a twist with their cultural style in many ways, there is no harm in trying something new.
Aside from the excessive heat on this particular day, any day can be enjoyable in the right circumstances. Whether its swimming, reading, shopping, or skateboarding don't forget to relax and enjoy leisure time. Its easy to get caught up and skip through those moments that may enlighten us. So take a moment to figure out what makes you happy, and go do it. This photograph reminds me to take that time out of my day to find peace.
Every photograph has a story. When photographing people, it is the expression and body language which sets the tone of the picture. After photographing tons of spontaneous pedestrians, this photo stood out to me due to the emotion set off by the homeless man, sitting in a very casual position but with a perplexed, strained facial expression. Every day, we see tons of homeless people on the street begging for money but how often do we stop and think about how they feel when they see us? If we do stop, its usually only for a few seconds to leave money or food. This image elongates that moment, and for me, allows me to stop and think about the reality.

The MOMA

All inventions stem from inspiration. The MOMA served as my inspiration in this photograph at one of the exhibits. The exhibit consisted of a color-changing strobe light, giving me the idea to take advantage of the unique setting for my own art. Now, leaving this experience, I took with me a new outlook on art and an expanded mindset. I had seen the museum previously with a denotative eye and now come in with connotation, looking at the details of each picture as a window into my imagination.
Yellow, orange, purple, green red. Color composition inspired by William Eggleston. The streets of New York are filled with the inatimate objects which make up his style of photography. On the way to Washington Square Park, opportunities for photos popped up everywhere. Although the picture is filled with color, the yellow of the bananas specifically catch my eye. For the rest of the assignment, I focused on the color yellow as a concentration with color and realized how often the color pops up in the city. With a new eye for color, taxis, street signs, lights all took a special role in the expression of the assignment.
